Community Quilt
May 2025 - What an incredibly joy filled month of Quilt sessions! Earlier on in the month the second session was an effevescent one - filled with so much energy and wonderful chaos. To a slowed down story filled session at the end of the month. I have LOVED holding space, sharing storires and gifting time to people! I really appreciate everyone who has come to these sessions and has offered their ideas, creativity and love. I have seen old pals, met lots of new friends and had so much fun along the way.
I love being with everyone and connecting via threads and cloth! How simple and how ingrained these skills and moments are within us as humans!
Discussing the OG Chaos from Greek mythology in session 3 and of course Arachne the wonderful (and a great protestor of early times I would say) weaver who called the bloody Gods out on their debauched and destructive ways via the medium of weaving!
I feel like we are creating our very own tales of connection, a new kind of positive chaos and flow. (With a little less drama than that of the Greek myths of course.)

June 2025 - The final session of the community Quilt at the open house was a joyous event to hold. Working as a community, as humans connecting on one piece of cloth, sewing and being with whatever comes up.
A young girl who came to the session shared some wonderful words which sums up the whole experience for me - “I feel so calm, I’m just following my hands.”
The feeling sewing brings within us and allowing our thinking brain to quieten and to just follow intuition and heart! AMAZING! Thank you to all who came to the sessions and have been involved in creating such an exciting gift to BS4 and beyond. All signed off with our own stories of what connection is to us!

July 2025 - Hurray! What an incredible journey - starting with one square at a time, I’ve really loved putting on these sessions and creating this project. I’ve met so many people along the way and heard so many lovely stories. I loved creating space for people to slow down and connect with their hands, the cloth and threads in order to see what comes out!
The grand unveiling last week was so fun!
The quilt has a new forever home in the reception at St Annes House for everyone to enjoy. If you want to see it, go and visit!
I am very thankful to Erin and the gang at St Annes House for allowing me to set this project up and work with so many incredible people in the community in BS4 and Bristol.
Exhibiting such a playful collaborative quilt has brought so much joy and it’s sparked a fire in my belly to do more collaborative quilts!
